About Me

Let’s be real — sharing your life with someone is a significant step.
Before you open your world to me, I’d like to share a bit of mine with you. I’m not one for perfect facades or or detached professionalism; I believe therapy should feel like a genuine conversation with someone who truly understands. So, here’s a glimpse into my world — authentic and sincere.

Hi there! My name is Palmira, but most know me as Pam. San Antonio has been my second home since 2017, though I’m originally a small town girl from a little further South. Growing up in a Mexican American family taught me the meaning of resilience and sparked a deep passion in me to break generational barriers and help others do the same. As a proud Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact and walking alongside others on their journey to healing. My heart is fullest with my amazing husband by my side- a proud Air Force Veteran- and as a mama to our two beautiful girls and our Doodle, Miles, who brings a little extra job (and chaos) to our everyday life.

Academic & Professional Background

As a proud first-generation college graduate, my educational journey began with an Associate’s degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. This foundation led me to Newman University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Children and Adolescents—all while stationed in Wichita, Kansas. My passion for learning and helping others never wavered and I continued my studies overseas and proudly completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2017 through Texas State University.

Since entering this rewarding field in 2008, I have had the privilege of serving in a wide range of roles from working with those suffering from addiction, public schools, nonprofit sector, healthcare, family advocacy/child welfare, and proudly serving and supporting military members and their families. Each role has been a unique chapter in my life. But the role that truly shaped me, the most profound and humbling chapter of my life was my role as a stay-at-home mom. Hands down, a position that I regard as the most challenging and honorable of all. Every step of the way has shaped me some how, but the unwavering thread throughout my journey is an intense enthusiasm that drives me to make sure people feel seen, are supported, and never alone.

  • The sparrow may be small, but it’s strong — a symbol of resilience, hope, and quiet strength. Healing Sparrow Counseling was named to honor those who’ve faced hard things and are still standing. Healing doesn’t have to be loud or perfect — it just has to be yours. Let it be as quiet or imperfect as it needs to be; it simply needs to be your own.

  • I show up as my full, human self — warm, honest, and real. My style is compassionate and collaborative, blending evidence-based practices with a down-to-earth vibe. Therapy with me is a space to feel seen, supported, and empowered — no judgment, just genuine connection. Clients describe me as understanding, honest, and always in their corner.

    • 🍿 Snack Life: My perfect combo? Peanut M&M’s mixed with popcorn and a cold Cherry Coke to wash it all down.

    • 🎶 Feel-Good Anthem: Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 or something from my favorite 90’s boyband, the Backstreet Boys. But my playlist is packed with all genres!

    • 📚Creative Mind at Work: When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m probably deep in a good book or brainstorming new ideas.

    • 🏀 Favorite Team: San Antonio Spurs! At 4'11", my Spurs obsession reached new heights with Wemby on the team. Watching him dunk while I need a stool to reach the top shelf? Iconic.
